Thailand has been at the top of my bucket list for awhile. So when Maria and I decided to visit Alicia in Japan, I knew a side trip to Thailand was a necessary happening. After saying “goodbye” to Alicia in Tokyo, Maria and I hopped on an overnight flight to Bangkok. From reclining Buddas, tuk-tuk rides, THE BEST PAD THAI EVER, to floating markets, Thailand was a city full of hustle and bustle and endless places to explore.Phuket-and-Bangkok-Thailand-Travel-Photography-By-Courtney-Tompson-PhotographyWhile in Bangkok we stayed at Bed Station Hostel. The staff was extremely helpful and it’s in a great location for exploring the city.

Below is the BEST PAD THAI EVER! Seriously though, the best! If you find yourself in the Wat Arun area, wander around and see if you can find this restaurant (above).Phuket-and-Bangkok-Thailand-Travel-Photography-By-Courtney-Tompson-PhotographyPhuket-and-Bangkok-Thailand-Travel-Photography-By-Courtney-Tompson-Photography

Our first tuk-tuk ride actually turned out to be what was part of the Lucky Buddha Scam. If visiting Bangkok you should google it. I won’t go into detail as there have been plenty of others who have written about the scam. However, other than the annoyance of having to visit certain “factory stores” we pretty much got chauffeured around the city and were able to visit many temples. Our tuck-tuk driver was also super nice, and we only paid 40baht (Less than 2 dollars) at the end. Phuket-and-Bangkok-Thailand-Travel-Photography-By-Courtney-Tompson-PhotographyPhuket-and-Bangkok-Thailand-Travel-Photography-By-Courtney-Tompson-Photography

Although extremely touristy, it was still worth a trip to Damnoen Saduak Floating Market. Items at the market were extremely overpriced but it was a great way to test our bartering skills. Phuket-and-Bangkok-Thailand-Travel-Photography-By-Courtney-Tompson-PhotographyPhuket-and-Bangkok-Thailand-Travel-Photography-By-Courtney-Tompson-PhotographyPhuket-and-Bangkok-Thailand-Travel-Photography-By-Courtney-Tompson-PhotographyPhuket-and-Bangkok-Thailand-Travel-Photography-By-Courtney-Tompson-Photography
